Send us a text

Welcome to Episode 102!!

I’d like to begin this episode by acknowledging the land that I am learning and living on is the traditional un-ceded, un-surrendered territory of the Anishinaabeg Algonquin People.

Craig P. Anderson, a fellow podcast host, Leadership Confidence Coach and President of Clear Path Coaching. Craig will talk about his experiences and what he’s seen as the biggest challenges to ensuring emerging leaders are prepared to take on the mantle of leadership. Craig will then offer advice and practical tools to help emergent leaders be prepared for these challenges, allowing them to be as effective as possible.

But first, let's dive into the lightning round! These five quick questions will give you a fun peek into Craig’s world. Let's see how he answers and get to know him a little better!

Speaker 1:

It's the Lightning Round reflective and connect with the listeners on a more personal level. And, without further ado, let's get to the questions, are you?

Speaker 2:

ready to go? I'm ready, let's go. You've got this, let's do it All right. Question number one what is your favorite leadership word? Intentional Question number two who do you look to for leadership inspiration?

Speaker 3:

for question number two who do you look to for leadership inspiration? I got to think about this for a minute. I would go. My leadership inspiration is one of my very early leaders, very early in my leadership career, who sat me down one day when I was completely stressed out Joy Benefield she's no longer with us and she helped me put perspective around the role and around my life, how it interacted with that leadership role. So I always think back to her just perspective and balance.

Speaker 2:

Question number three cup half full or cup half empty?

Speaker 3:

My smart aleck answer is always I didn't think there was that much water in there to begin with. My smart aleck answer is always I didn't think there was that much water in there to begin with. But I think the glass is always half full because we can always do more and we control ourselves how much we're going to be able to fill that glass.

Speaker 2:

And question four what would you like to improve about your leadership style?

Speaker 3:

My leadership style opportunity has always been managing the stress of it and not letting that overtake me.

Speaker 2:

And the last question what do you think is your leadership strength?

Speaker 3:

I think my leadership strength although it would be an interesting poll question for anybody who ever worked for me, simon I believe my leadership strength was empathy. I really could feel where people were. I could really feel where people are and adapt to that and address that.

Speaker 2:

That's it. That's the lightning round. How was that?

Speaker 3:

That was great. That was great. It was a little challenging in there, but I think I got through.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you did fantastic. You may have recognized some of the questions, although episode 30 was a long time ago, so yeah, I did not even remember there was a lightning round.

Speaker 3:

That's how bad my memory is.

Speaker 2:

To be fair, I've been running these same questions for a little while now and I still need to pull them up to make sure I remember them. So I'm totally on board make sure I remember them.

Speaker 1:
