Speaker 1:

It's the Lightning Round reflective and connect with the listeners on a more personal level. And, without further ado, let's get to the questions.

Speaker 2:

Well, hey, Matt, here we are. We're getting ready to do the lightning round. Five leadership related questions. You ready to go? Absolutely.

Speaker 3:

Ding, ding ding. I love the lightning round.

Speaker 1:

baby, let's go Is there a prize?

Speaker 2:

Is there a?

Speaker 3:

prize we get to win.

Speaker 2:

We'll see. Well, I guess it depends on your answers. No, there's always a prize, the prize of knowing you did a great job.

Speaker 3:

That's motivational for us high achievers.

Speaker 2:

So, okay, good, exactly, let's do this Question number one what is your favorite leadership word?

Speaker 3:

First word that comes to mind is empowerment.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 3:

Okay, I love empowerment. I want to empower people to be the best they can be, to teach them how to own their stuff, own their challenges. Empowerment is the first word that comes to mind.

Speaker 2:

I love it. Question number two who do you look to for leadership inspiration?

Speaker 3:

The easy, personal answer is I look to my father and the things I learned from him. I look to my wife at home because she is someone who's amazing. The professional answer if I look at who's a mentor or a guide out there. I've found a lot of value over time in reading a book from 2016 called Principles by Ray Dalio. I found that the Radical Transparency chapter was amazing, so I would read Ray Dalio's book Principles. I found some good leadership things in there.

Speaker 2:

Okay, fantastic. So this question I love and I've been doing this particular question, even though a lot of these questions have evolved over time. I love this question and you'll know why. In just a second Cup half full or cup half empty.

Speaker 3:

Oh, it's a great question and if anyone on the YouTube here can see, my logo for my podcast is a glass half full with an arrow pointed to the sky. See my logo for my podcast is a glass half full with an arrow pointed to the sky. It's always glass half full in every situation, and when you might learn to take the hardest situations that you experience in life and learn to treat those as great teachers and to learn to treat those as opportunities, then we're getting to eternal optimism. So thank you for asking. I love the question Excellent.

Speaker 2:

Question number four what would you like to improve about your leadership style?

Speaker 3:

I would like to continue my journey of emotional intelligence as it relates to being able to receive feedback and offer it. So feedback is the current place I'm studying and continue to get better at.

Speaker 2:

Okay, Thank you. And the final question what do you think is your leadership strength?

Speaker 3:

100%. My strength as a leader is driven from and derived from my authenticity. People know when I show up that it's genuine, it's real, it's transparent. People know when I show up that it's genuine, it's real, it's transparent and the ability to ask a really challenging question and hold people accountable to it Perfect.

Speaker 2:

Thank you so much. That was the lightning round. How do you think you did?

Speaker 3:

Oh, I'm hoping I get a prize, because I'm very excited right now. I'm sitting on pins and needles over here. Oh, you did fantastic. Oh yeah, oh, you totally got the prize.

Speaker 2:

You did fantastic. I love that. When I saw your logo and I saw question three, I can't wait to do that. That's been the highlight of this whole lightning round.

Speaker 1:

That's it. That's all you have been treated to five leadership related questions and the responses from this week's guest.
