It's the lightning round Brought to you by Trench Leadership, a podcast from the front. Guests on Trench Leadership are asked five random leadership-related questions with the goal of having a little fun, being a little self-reflective and connect with the listeners on a more personal level and without further ado let's get to the questions.
Speaker 2:So, with that in mind, I think we're going to move into the lightning round.
Speaker 3:You ready to go? All right, bring it.
Speaker 2:Let's do this. Question number one what is your favorite leadership word?
Speaker 3:My favorite leadership word we.
Speaker 2:Okay, Question two who do you look to for leadership inspiration?
Speaker 3:This is the most horrible suck up answer. I hate this. My boss, kevin Eikenberry, who literally wrote the book I mean, he wrote Remarkable Leadership and he's written with me these three books. I have never met anybody in my life who walks it the way he talks it like Kevin does and visibly makes the effort to do that. It's both inspiring, intimidating and occasionally annoying.
Speaker 2:Question number three cup half full or cup half empty?
Speaker 3:I am a pessimist by nature. I think, glass half empty. I'm one of these people who really likes Monday mornings, mainly because I'm a pessimist and I know it's going to go downhill and that's as good as it's going to go downhill and that's as good as it's going to get all day Like nothing's gone wrong. Yet I mean, that's my approach. So I I'm a glass half empty kind of guy, unfortunately.
Speaker 2:Hey, there's no wrong answer. I appreciate that. Question number four what would you like to improve about your leadership style? Number four what would you?
Speaker 3:like to improve about your leadership style. I think it's my need to take a breath. I tend to react rather than respond.
Speaker 2:Fantastic. And the final question what do you think is your leadership strength?
Speaker 3:Energy. I think that I bring energy to what I do and I try to energize, and you know, whether it's through humor or whatever it is that I do, I think I bring energy to the table.
Speaker 2:Perfect, that's it. That's the lightning round. You did fantastic. How are you feeling about it? A little sore, but I'm okay, oh no, you did really really great.
Speaker 1:That's it. That's all you have been treated to five leadership-related questions and the responses from this week's guest. We hope you have enjoyed this edition of the Lightning Round brought to you by Trench Leadership, a podcast from the front. Take care and remember leadership without passion limits the depth of your vision.
